The Tennessee Credit Card Massacre

Slasher film spoof – inspired by radio host Dave Ramsey’s approach to debt reduction. A man has nightmares about high credit card debt, wakes up and proceeds to do unpeakable things to his credit cards

We are living in a society that values credit cards highly and dreads credit card debts with gusto. But one thing is for sure, you will incur debt if you use a card. What people actually loathe is the huge debts that accumulate once the bill comes in. If you have already amassed huge debts in your name, the best thing you can do is explore debt settlement options that are immediately available to you.

You can start by ranking your cards (if you own multiple accounts) from the lowest to highest in terms of amount owed. This will help you evaluate how much you actually owe in total and which account would be easy to pay off first. You can simply begin your payment schedule with the card with the least amount and the least interest rate. This step will eventually help you settle or reduce your overall debt.

Money makeover and planning?

Here is the scenario of a family I am assisting in planning:

Wife is a teacher, husband is a Airline employee and his job is not secure and he wants a change. Both are in their mid-30′s with a 2 year old child.

They just came into $10,000.

I am not irresponsible. I charged up about $11,000 on a bank of america card in an effort to save my cat’s life. He was attacked by a dog and was my son (i don’t have human kids) for 12 years. Anyway, I was 2 days late on a payment and they bumped my interest rate to 31%. I couldn’t afford the payments. I hired a debt reduction company but B of A continues to call me and says they refuse to work with them. They threatened to garnish my wages and take my house. They claim I used my house as collateral when I got the card, but that is an outright lie. I don’t care about my credit score right now. I just want to get out of debt. Also, they are now saying I owe $22,000 rather than the $11,000 I charged. Any advice??? Can they take my house or wages?????
Thank you all so much. It was just a regular credit card offer I got in the mail for 0% interest the first 12 months. It is in no way tied to my house. The woman that told me that said she didn’t care about anything except getting their money and hung up on me when I asked to talk to her supervisor.
I am trying to get it taken care of but it is difficult because they are refusing to work with me or the company I hired to help me.

College Student With Credit Card DEBT?

I am currently a junior in college and I desperately used credit cards to pay off college since financial aid didn’t cover it all so now I owe around 4,000 in debt. What is the best thing for me to do, since all of the accounts are closed, is there a college student credit card debt consolidation loan or?

I am searching for help with my credit card debt and came across this web site (www dot thecreditcardsolution dot net). Has anyone ever heard of them; worked with them; and had success with them? I have not talked with Mr. Lindsey, but the web site sounds very promising. I just don’t want to jump into something I will regret later. Any help is much appreciated!

This credit card was opened Dec 2005, i dont even know or rememebr if i signed a contract but i dont know how to check that since its been so long. The statutes of limitations in GA is 4 years for an open contract i think but i dont know if that argument will work since they are already suing me to court(i received the summons last week). Secondly in my response am i following a structure or do i just respond to each allegations they say. The first one is that i am subject to the juriddiction of the court, the second ne is i owe this amount and the third is i refused to pay.. My court date is like in 2 weeks and i want to respond but i am really not sure what to do exactly. Should i call the attorney suing me and negotiate a payment or should i include in my response letter to the court that i am making negotiations with the lawyer.I consulted a lawyer for advice but he kept saying you shouldnt admit to the debt. But how do you respond without saying you owe the debt if you are making negitiations with the creditors lawyer. I also really want to see proof that this company bought the debt from bank of america. I am thinking they probbaly paid a really small price and they rsuing me for the original amount with a bunch of interest and court fees. what forms do i need to request to see the original copy of the debt, is this included in my response.. oh god this is so confusing. So from all these what should be my best and next course of action. What can i do first and how should i write the response. Any outline will be greatly appreciated. thanks alot. If you need more info please let me know.
yeah i really cannot afford a lawyer. So am trying to save the little i have to use for court fees and any other fees i have to pay in the end.

the person was able to use the credit card but they were not the primary account holder . they tried to do a debt settlement for the account without my permission. is this legal or did they violate my right to privacy with the bank that holds the credit account. or is the collection agency in violation.
